About us
For over 60 years our siding has been used as a coal processing, storage and load-out facility.
The siding can also be utilised as a loading facility for other commodities, like chrome, manganese and iron ore.

Day-to-day Operations
Currently, 208 84-ton jumbo wagons can be loaded at a time, heading for RBCT (Richards Bay Coal Terminal).
Compliance
Sikame Siding holds itself to the highest safety and railway maintenance standards. We presently hold a 5-year RSR safety permit that expires in June 2026. Click below for more details.

Activity
The siding has been managed and actively used by our team since 2014. Our team has been in the coal business for over 30 years.
There are currently various processing operations on different pads. We rework clients' coal into different sizing. The processing of the coal contains crushing and screening.

Capacity
Currently, various clients utilise the siding to rail between 80,000 to 120,000 tons per month, not even half of the available capacity.

Stockpile
1 million tons can be stockpiled on various pads (sections) of the siding.

Lease
Pads (Sections) are areas within the siding that can be cordoned off and dedicated to a single client. Coal may then be stockpiled for future use.

Sikame Siding currently complies with all licensing requirements as dictated by Transnet Freight and Rail (TFR) and Rail Safety Regulator (RSR).

New Business
Our R&D team is working on the logistics efforts around chrome, manganese and iron ore, by bringing in bulk commodities by road freight, processing it into containers and loading it by rail.
